The City of Nelsonville welcomes Scott Fitch as the interim Police Chief for Nelsonville. City council held a special meeting on Monday, June 27, 2019 to discuss Fitch’s appointment in executive session. When Council returned to regular session the voted to appoint Fitch as the interim Police Chief until a permanent Police Chief can be appointed. Fitch was sworn in at the meeting by City Council President, Tony Dunfee before City Council adjourned the special meeting.
The City of Nelsonville Finance Committee will hold a virtual meeting on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 7:00PM. The meeting is being held to discuss the city’s finances. The Nelsonville Water Department is working on a major water line break which is causing a water outage to all customers East of Burr Oak Boulevard including State Route 691, Kimberly Road and Hocking College. When the water line is repaired, and service restored a boil order will be in effect for the same are mentioned before.
The Boil Order has been issued due to a water main break. When a boil order is in effect, we ask those affected to boil their drinking and cooking water for three minutes before being consumed.
