The City of Nelsonville announces that the America Electric Power (AEP) will be doing utility pole replacements on Chestnut Street, Poplar Street, and on Canal Street starting May 10, 2026, and ended on November 30, 2026. The work will cause traffic interruptions around work areas. Please watch for work crews and drive with caution around work areas.

Paint crews are expecting to start work at 7:00AM and work until it is completed. The work will cause traffic interruptions along Canal Street. The City of Nelsonville would like to remind the public of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation 5K run and walk, Sunday, April 26, 2026, between the hours of 7:00AM and 1:00PM. The Nelsonville Public Square will be closed to vehicle traffic and parking starting at 5:00AM, Sunday, April 26, 2026. Vehicles remaining parked on the public square after 5:00AM are subject to be towed at the owner’s expense.
Tunnel to Towers 5K participants will be on streets throughout Nelsonville. Additionally, many spectators are expected in the city. The City of Nelsonville will be CLOSING the Public Square and the adjoining sections of Washington Street and Columbus Street on Saturday, April 4, 2026. The streets will be closed and barricaded from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM for the Rooted in Nelsonville Easter Egg Hunt.
The Nelsonville Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled to start at 2:00 PM. The Easter Egg Hunt is open to all ages and will have age-appropriate egg hunt sections, and a prize table. The event is sponsored by our generous local businesses.
