Nelsonville Tunnel to Towers Foundation 5K run and walk, Sun, 4/26/26, 7AM to 1PM, Public Square closed to all traffic and parking at 5AM, Drive with caution, watch for pedestrians

The City of Nelsonville would like to remind the public of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation 5K run and walk, Sunday, April 26, 2026, between the hours of 7:00AM and 1:00PM. The Nelsonville Public Square will be closed to vehicle traffic and parking starting at 5:00AM, Sunday, April 26, 2026. Vehicles remaining parked on the public square after 5:00AM are subject to be towed at the owner’s expense.

Tunnel to Towers 5K participants will be on streets throughout Nelsonville. Additionally, many spectators are expected in the city. Drive with caution throughout Nelsonville and watch out for pedestrians. The City of Nelsonville will be CLOSING the Public Square and the adjoining sections of Washington Street and Columbus Street on Saturday, April 4, 2026. The streets will be closed and barricaded from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM for the Rooted in Nelsonville Easter Egg Hunt.

The Nelsonville Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled to start at 2:00 PM. The Easter Egg Hunt is open to all ages and will have age-appropriate egg hunt sections, and a prize table. The event is sponsored by our generous local businesses.

For everyone’s safety please avoid this area and use an alternative route during the event times.

Nelsonville Poplar St/ Burr Oak BLVD intersection closed Thu, 3/19, 2026, from 8AM to 5PM, avoid area, use alternative route

The City of Nelsonville announces that the intersection of Poplar Street and Burr Oak Boulevard will be closed Thursday, March 19, 2026, to continue water line installation work under the roadway. The intersection will be closed from 8:00AM until 5:00PM. The closure was extended due to severe weather. Please avoid this area and use an alternative route.

The City of Nelsonville announces that Fredrick Street will be closed at 532 Fredrick Street starting Monday, March 9, 2026, until Friday, March 13, 2026, from 7:00AM until 7:00PM each day. The street is being closed for demolition cleanup at 532 Fredrick Street. Please avoid this area and use an alternative route.

The City of Nelsonville announces that East Washington Street between the Public Square and Jefferson Street will be closed to all through traffic Thursday, February 26, 2026, beginning at 8:00AM until 12:00PM. Local traffic is permitted for local street residents. This closure is necessary to provide parking for school buses transporting school children for a special performance at Stuart’s Opera House. Please avoid this area and use an alternative route.

Nelsonville boil order, SR691 from bike path to Kimberly RD, and Kimberly RD from SR691 to Wolfe-Bennet Road, until 12PM, Wed, 2/25/2026, boil cooking and drinking water (3) minutes before consuming

The Nelsonville Water Department has issued a boil order for State Route 691 from the bike path to Kimberly Road, and Kimberly Road from State Route 691 to Wolfe-Bennet Road.

This boil order is due to a fire hydrant being hit by a car and repaired. The boil order will be in effect for the area until 12:00 PM, Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

When a boil order is in effect, we ask all who are affected to boil their cooking and drinking water for three (3) minutes before being consumed.
