Nelsonville delayed E Canal St and Monroe St intersection closure to, 7AM, Mon, 3/6/23, to 5PM, Mon, 3/13/23, avoid area use alternate route
The City of Nelsonville announces that the Tuesday, February 28, 2023, scheduled closing of the intersection at East Canal Street and Monroe Street has been delayed. The closure of the intersection at East Canal Street and Monroe Street will be 7:00 AM, Monday, March 6, 2023, through 5:00PM, Monday, March 13, 2023. Road closed signs will be placed at the Rocky Boots Way traffic light and West of McDonalds on Canal Street. Additionally, there will be a detour for through traffic with signs taking traffic on State Route 691 to Hocking Parkway to keep tractor trailers and other larger trucks off the residential streets. The roadway is being closed so that crews can install a new sanitary sewer line. Please avoid this area and use an alternate route.

The City of Nelsonville would like to remind residents how to report a street light outage. In Nelsonville street light outages, (other than those directly on the Public Square), are handled by AEP Ohio. Street light outages can be reported to AEP Ohio online at https://www.aepohio.com/outages/problem/streetlight. You can also contact the AEP Ohio Customer Service Center at 1-800-672-2231 to report a light out. Repair requests may take several weeks to resolve.

Nelsonville boil order for Fayette St from Monroe St to Jefferson St, until Wed, 2/22/23, 12PM, due to water line break
The Nelsonville Water Department has issued a boil order for water customers on Fayette Street from Monroe Street to Jefferson Street. The boil order will be in effect until Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 12:00PM, unless notified otherwise. This boil order is due to a water line break and repair.
When a boil order is in effect, we ask all who are affected to boil their cooking and drinking water for three minutes before being consumed.
