The Nelsonville Fire Department has CLOSED State Route 691 from the intersection of East Canal Street to the US Route 33 including all on and off ramps until further notice due to an oil spill. Crews are on scene working on cleaning up the spilled oil and the roadway has been closed for their safety. Once the cleanup is completed the roadway will be reopened. Please use an alternate route and avoid the area.

The Nelsonville Water Department has issued a boil order for Watkins Street from East Canal Street to Polly Field, Myers Street from Monroe Street to Watkins Street, Jackson Street, Desteiguer Street, Patton Street, Back Street, South Harper Street and Railroad Street until further notice.
The Boil Order has been issued due to a repair for a leak on the mainline. When a boil order is in effect, we ask those affected to boil their drinking and cooking water for three minutes before being consumed.
This Boil Order is in effect until further notice, unless notified otherwise.
The Nelsonville Water Department is work on a major water line break on Jackson Street. Many areas in the city are experiencing low or no water pressure.
A Boil Order may be issued later due to the repair for a leak on the mainline. If a boil order is in effect, we ask those affected to boil their drinking and cooking water for three minutes before being consumed.
