The Nelsonville City Council announces that the second May Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 7PM due to the Memorial Day Holiday.

Due to social distancing recommendations on preventing the spread of the COVID-19, Nelsonville City Council will be meeting via a virtual meeting. The public may not attend the meeting in person. The meeting will be live streamed from the City of Nelsonville Facebook Page, (City of Nelsonville, Ohio, @nelsonvillecity). Citizens comments and business and organizational comments may be made to council by Emailing them to councilclerk@cityofnelsonville.com, no later than 12PM Tuesday, May 26, 2020. The public is invited and encouraged to attend virtually online.

Nelsonville Madison St closed, W Franklin St to Cross St, Wed, 5/20/20 and Thu, 5/21/20, 7AM to 6PM, use alternate route

The Nelsonville Water Department announces that Madison Street will be closed from West Franklin Street to Cross Street, Wednesday, May 20, 2020 and Thursday, May 21, 2020.  The roadway will be closed each day from 7:00AM until 6:00PM.  The north bound lane will be open to area residence. The roadway is being closed for a water valve installation, weather permitting. Please use an alternate route.

Nelsonville water outage and boil order, SR691, Elm Rock Rd, Kimberly Rd, E Canal St “Y” to SR691, Hocking College

The Nelsonville Water Department is currently working on a water main break on East Canal Street. The water service will be off for the following areas until water service is restored and once water service is restored the following areas will be under a boil order. State Route 691, Elm Rock Road, Kimberly Road and East Canal Street from the “Y” to State Route 691and Hocking College.

When a boil order is in effect, we ask those affected to boil their drinking and cooking water for three minutes before being consumed.

This Boil Order is in effect until further notice, unless notified otherwise.

Nelsonville Grover St CLOSED, Fort St to Oak St, Thu, 5/14/20, Fri, 5/15/20, Mon, 5/18/20 to Fri, 5/22/20, 7AM to 6PM

The City of Nelsonville announces that Grover Street will be closed from Fort Street to Oak Street, Thursday, May 14, 2020, Friday, May 15, 2020 and Monday, May 18, 2020 through Friday, May 22, 2020.  The roadway will be closed each day from 7:00AM until 6:00PM.  The roadway is being closed for an R&R Pipeline gas line repair project, weather permitting.  Please use an alternate route.

Nelsonville Mayors Court to resume 5/13/20, 6PM, defendant, legal representative, witnesses only, face covering required

The City of Nelsonville Mayors Court is scheduled for May 13, 2020, at 6:00 pm.

In order to protect the health of employees, customers, and their families; efforts to control the spread of the virus the Court asked that the defendant, his or her legal representation and witnesses only enter the building or attend the hearing, social distancing guidelines and wearing mask will be required to enter the building.
