2/10/2021, 5:30 PM – Athens County is under a LEVEL 2 SNOW EMERGENCY. Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be very icy. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roads. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work. Motorists should use extreme caution!
ATHENS CO WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FROM 12PM, TUE, 2/10/21 UNTIL 7AM, FRI, 2/12/21, 1 TO 3 INCHES SNOW, LIGHT GLAZE ICE
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Athens County from 12 noon, Wednesday 2/10/2021 until 7:00 AM Friday, 2/12/2021.
- WHAT – Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze.
- WHERE – In Ohio, Athens, Washington and Meigs Counties. In West Virginia, Wood and Pleasants Counties.
- WHEN – From noon today to 7 AM Friday.
- IMPACTS – Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
- ADDITIONAL DETAILS – Periods of wintry precipitation are expected over the next couple of days. This will result in hazardous travel conditions are times.

The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING for Athens County until 7:00AM, Tuesday, 2/9/2021.
- WHAT – Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to two inches. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches.
- WHERE – Perry, Morgan, Athens, Washington and Vinton Counties.
- WHEN – Until 7 AM Tuesday, 2/9/2021.
- IMPACTS – Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.
