The City of Nelsonville announces that all City offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28, 2019 and Friday, November 29, 2019 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. City offices will re-open for business on Monday, December 2, 2019 for regular business hours.
The City of Nelsonville announces that the Public Square will be closed on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. The Public Square is being closed for the Athens Bando Kickboxing Club 5K walk-fun run. The 5K walk-fun run will also be using Washington, Jefferson, Poplar, Campbell, Pine Grove, Columbus, Franklin, Madison, Grosvenor and Findley Streets.

The National weather service has issued a winter weather
advisory for Athens County from 10PM Monday, 11/11/19 until 12Noon Tuesday,
- WHAT, Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of
1 to 2 inches. Isolated areas may receive up to 3 inches, mainly in West Virginia.
- WHERE, Portions of southeast Ohio, northeast
Kentucky and central, northern, southern and western West Virginia.
- WHEN, From 10 PM this evening to noon Tuesday.
- IMPACTS, Plan on slippery road conditions. The
hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute on Tuesday.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Rain this evening will switch over to
all snow during the night, with snow ending from west to east Tuesday morning.
As the snow begins, both air and road temperatures will quickly fall to below
freezing, resulting in slick roadways. A few bursts of heavier snow may occur
between midnight and sunrise, resulting in very poor visibilities and further
enhancing hazardous driving conditions.

The Nelsonville Water Department has issued a boil order for all
of Mill Street.
The Boil Order has been issued due to a repair for a leak on the
mainline. When a boil order is in effect, we ask those affected to boil their drinking
and cooking water for three minutes before being consumed.
