The City of Nelsonville announces that East Washington Street at Fort Street west to the first alley will be closed to thru traffic on Friday, June 28, 2013, from 12:00PM to 12:00AM Saturday, June 29, 2013, for Stuart’s Opera House first Free Outdoor Concert of the 2013 Season.

Nelsonville’s Elizabeth St closed at 379 Elizabeth Thu, 6/27, to Sat, 6/29, 8AM to 5PM for Sanitary Sewer repair.
The Nelsonville Street Department announces that Elizabeth Street will be closed to thru traffic at 379 Elizabeth beginning Thursday, June 27, 2013, continuing through Saturday, June 29, 2013, between the hours of 8:00AM to 5:00PM for installation of a Sanitary Sewer lines. Detour signs will be located at College & Clinton Streets. Traffic will be maintained between 5:00PM and 8:00AM on each of these days.
Nelsonville Street Sweeper will be cleaning for the next 2 weeks, residents are asked to move their vehicles when the sweeper is on their street.
The Nelsonville Street Department announces that the Street Sweeper is back in service and they will be cleaning for the next two (2) weeks starting at the East end of town working their way West. The sweeper will make multiple passes on each street. Residents are asked to please be aware and move their vehicles when they see the sweeper on their street.

Hocking Parkway closed to through traffic at Hocking College, 5/30 – 6/2 for Nelsonville Music Festival
The 9th Annual Nelsonville Music Festival is returning to the beautiful rolling hills of Southeastern Ohio May 30th – June 2nd for four days that celebrates music and local artistry of the region. The festival offers a warm, accepting environment where local artisans can sell and be recognized for their work, where local, regional and national musicians instill their awe-inspiring talents and festival goers can relax and enjoy the fruits of the regional flavor.
The City of Nelsonville, Hocking College and festival organizers have worked hard to develop a traffic control plan to maintain traffic flow in and around Nelsonville during the festival.
On Thursday morning, May 30th traffic cones will be placed on Loop Road, on the hocking College Campus making it TWO WAY TRAFFIC roadway. Signs will be posted. ALL parking on Loop Road is prohibited. At approximately 4:00 p.m. Hocking Parkway will be closed to through traffic from the Daycare building to the Bookstore intersection for the duration of the festival. All traffic will be routed on Loop Road. All THROUGH TRAFFIC will use the Loop Road detour for the duration of the festival. THROUGH TRAFFIC is encouraged to avoid the area if possible.
Persons attending the Nelsonville Music Festival will need to follow the routes below:
From the South (Athens, SR 691): Vehicles will follow the Loop Road detour around Hocking College. At the stop sign at the intersection they will proceed straight and be directed into a parking lot. There is no through traffic.
From the North (Logan, Canal St.): At the stop sign Festival traffic will turn LEFT and be directed to park in a parking lot.
Hocking Parkway should be re-opened to normal traffic on Sunday evening June 2nd after the Festival has closed.

The Nelsonville Street Department announces that Poplar Street will be closed between Burr Oak Blvd, SR78 and Hopkins Street, including the SR78 intersection for road repairs on Thursday, May 9, 2013, between 7:30AM and 3:00PM. Traffic will be detoured around the intersection and signs will be posted.
