The City of Nelsonville announces that the Historic Public Square will be closed to traffic beginning at 12:00 NOON on Friday, March 28, 2014, for the March to the Music Final Friday event. The square will reopen at 9:00PM. Travelers are urged to use caution while traveling in the downtown district.
The Athens County Engineer’s Office will be closing County Road 73, Wolfe Bennett Road, between Township Road 446, Cullison Road and Township Road 275, Lick Run Road in York Township, Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 7am to 3:30pm, weather permitting. The roadway is being closed for culvert replacement. Please avoid this area.
The Athens County Engineer’s Office road closing scheduled for today on County Road 73, Wolfe Bennett Road has been canceled. The closing will be rescheduled and a media release will be sent out once this date is scheduled.

Pleasantview Ave has been reopened, but s boil order remains in affect until further notice for Pleasantview Ave from Fort St to Woodlane Dr including the Hocking Correctional Facility until further notice.
The Nelsonville water department has closed Pleasantview Ave at Diamond St until further notice for a major water leak.
Since opening on October 1, 2013, a small segment of the eastern portion of the U.S. 33 Nelsonville Bypass was still reduced to two lanes to allow final paving of the new alignment. As of this morning, this two lane section is now open to four lanes.
The Nelsonville Street Department announces that Short Street will be closed to thru traffic beginning Monday, November 18, 2013, for approximately one week depending upon weather conditions for a wall repair project. Local traffic will be maintained.
