Athens County is at a LEVEL 3 SNOW EMERGENCY. Vehicles that are parked on County and Township roads are subject to be towed at the owner’s expense. The roadways need to be clear for County and Township snow removal equipment to clear the roadways.
The City of Nelsonville announces that a portion of West Franklin Street will be closed between Madison Street and Cable Alley on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM. AEP will be replacing a utility pole and upgrading facilities on that section of the street, weather permitting.

The City of Nelsonville announces the Annual Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Nelsonville Chamber of Commerce, will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. The following streets will be affected by the parade route; W. Washington, Cable Alley, W. Columbus, Rocky Boot Way, Fayette, Monroe, and E. Canal.
