Nelso Road Closed

The Nelsonville Street Department announces that Harper Street will be CLOSED between Chestnut Street and Poplar Street on Saturday, October 18, 2014, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM for the Nelsonville Wesleyan Church Fall Fellowship and Wagon Ride. The wagon ride will begin on Chestnut Street, South on DeSteiguer, East on Poplar, North on Second Street back to Chestnut. Citizens are urged to use caution while traveling in the area.

The City of Nelsonville will be closing the following streets starting at 8:00 AM Friday, October 17th through 12 Noon, Sunday, October 19th.

  •  Nelsonville Public Square
  • West Columbus Street from September Street to Rocky Boot Way
  • Rocky Boot Way from Columbus Street to Canal Street
  • Fayette Street from Rocky Boot Way to Valkinburg Alley

These streets are being closed for the 18th Annual Ohio Smoked Meat and BBQ Festival being held in Nelsonville this weekend. Please watch for increased pedestrian traffic and use alternate routes to avoid the area.

Concert Series Closure

The City of Nelsonville announces that East Washington Street from Fort Street to Jefferson Street will be closed at 12 Noon on Friday, August 29, 2014 for the Stuart’s Opera House Free Outdoor Concert. East Washington Street will reopen at 1:30 AM Saturday morning. The public is encouraged to drive safely while traveling through the downtown area.

The City of Nelsonville announces that the Historic Public Square will be closed to traffic on Friday, August 29, 2014, for this month’s “Dog Days of Summer”, Final Friday Event beginning at 12:00 NOON and will re-open at 9:30 PM Friday night. The public is encouraged to drive safely while traveling through the downtown area.
