The City of Nelsonville announces that street crews will be performing street crack sealing on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, through Monday, September 13, 2021, on the following streets.

  • Tuesday, September 7, 2021 – Columbus Street from West Canal Street at the “Y” to The First National Drive thru (drive thru will be open), Madison Street will remain open
  • Wednesday, September 8, 2021 – Columbus Street from Rocky Boot Way (Dew House) to Jefferson Street
  • Thursday, September 9, 2021 – Columbus Street from The First National drive thru to Rocky Boot Way and the Public Square
  • Monday, September 13, 2021 – Rocky Boot Way

All sealing work will take place between the hours of 7:00AM and 3:30PM. Streets may reopen sooner as the sealing product dries. On street parking is not permitted while sealing work is being performed. Motorists are asked to please avoid this area and use an alternate route.

Nelsonville street crews will be performing street crack sealing on Fayette St Thu 8/26/21 and Fri 8/27/21, NO PARKING

The City of Nelsonville announces that street crews will be performing street crack sealing on Fayette Street on Thursday August 26, 2021, and Friday August 27, 2021.

  • The crack sealing on Thursday August 26, 2021, will be applied on the North side of Fayette Street.
  • The crack sealing on Friday August 27, 2021, will be applied on the South side of Fayette Street.

All sealing work will take place between the hours of 7:00AM and 3:30PM. On street parking is not permitted on the side of the street affected while sealing work is being performed. Motorists are asked to please avoid this area and use an alternate route.

The City of Nelsonville announces that street crews will be performing street crack sealing on Columbus Street and Fayette Street on Wednesday August 4, 2021, and Thursday August 5, 2021.

The crack sealing on Wednesday August 4, 2021, will be applied on the North side of Columbus Street and Fayette Street.

The crack sealing on Thursday August 5, 2021, will be applied on the South side of Columbus St and Fayette Street.

Motorists are asked to please avoid this area and use an alternate route.

Nelsonville installing Hocking River level staff gage on SR 278 bridge, Wed, 7/28/21, 9AM to 1PM, use caution in area

The City of Nelsonville in cooperation with the National Weather Service Office in Charleston, West Virginia will be installing a Hocking River level staff gage on the Lake Hope Drive, (SR 278) bridge. The staff gage installation will take place on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Crews will be working in the Hocking River under the bridge and on the bridge deck during this time. Motorists are asked to use caution in the area during this time and watch for workers on and around the bridge.

The river staff gage is being installed to help officials better monitor river levels. The gage will help to get a better idea of what levels will cause impacts to the Nelsonville area once, it is correlated to the Athens gage downstream.

What is a staff gage? Staff gages look like oversized rulers, that are permanently installed in a body of water. They provide a quick visual reference of the water level. Their simplicity and effectiveness mean they are quite useful in monitor changing water levels.

Nelsonville Mill St closed Wed, 7/21/21 at 8AM for 3 weeks, access to residents only, avoid area and use alternate route

The City of Nelsonville announces that Mill Street will be closed to traffic on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 8:00AM and remain closed for approximately (3) three weeks. Access will be made available to the residents of the street. The roadway is being closed so that crews can replace water lines along the street. Please avoid this area and use an alternate route.

Nelsonville Mill St/ Kotner St intersection closed Thu, 7/15/21 and Fri, 7/16,/21, 8AM to 3:30PM Please avoid this area

The City of Nelsonville announces that the intersection of Mill Street and Kotner Street will be closed to traffic on Thursday, July 15, 2021 and Friday, July 16, 2021 between the hours of 8:00AM and 3:30PM each day. The roadway is being closed so that City crews can replace utilities in the intersection. Please avoid this area and use an alternate route.

Nelsonville Church ST CLOSED Mon, 4/12/21 TO Mon, 6/21/21, local vehicles only with delays, please avoid this area

The City of Nelsonville announces that Church Street will be closed starting Monday, April 12, 2021 until approximately Monday, June 21, 2021. The street will be open to local and emergency vehicles only. During working hours expect delays. The street is being closed for the repair of a land slip affecting the street. Please avoid this area and use an alternate route.

Nelsonville Woodlane Dr closed at Monday Creek bridge Mon, 4/12/21 until Mon, 8/2/21, for bridge replacement, avoid area

The City of Nelsonville announces that Woodlane Drive will be closed at the Monday Creek bridge between Pleasantview Avenue and Sylvania Avenue, starting Monday, April 12, 2021 until approximately Monday, August 2, 2021. The roadway is being closed for the replacement of the bridge over Monday Creek including the approach pavement and guardrail. Please avoid this area and use an alternate route.
