The Nelsonville Water Department has issued a boil order for Walnut Street from Second Street to Burr Oak Boulevard until 12:00PM, Saturday, November 2, 2024. This boil order is necessary due to a water line repair.

When a boil order is in effect, we ask all who are affected to boil their cooking and drinking water for three (3) minutes before being consumed.

The Nelsonville Water Department has issued a boil order for Loop Road on the Hocking College campus until 12:00PM, Friday, November 1, 2024. This boil order is necessary due to a 8 inch water line repair.

When a boil order is in effect, we ask all who are affected to boil their cooking and drinking water for three (3) minutes before being consumed.

The City of Nelsonville Street Department will start curbside leaf pick-up on Monday, November 4, 2024, and continue on the following days in November and December.

  • November –
    • Monday – 4th, Wednesday – 6th, Friday – 8th, Tuesday – 12th, Thursday – 14th, Monday – 18th, Wednesday – 20th, Friday – 22nd, Tuesday – 26th
  • December –
    • Monday – 2nd, Wednesday – 4th, Friday – 6th

Leaf pick-up will take place each day from 8:00 AM until 2:30 PM, depending on the weather conditions.

Follow these steps for curbside leaf pick-up.

  1. Rake leaves to curbside, DO NOT include branches, sticks, grass clippings or tall grass. These can clog and damage the equipment and cause delays. City crews will not be raking any leaves.
  2. DO NOT rake leaves into the street. This can clog storm drains.
  3. DO NOT pile leaves around fire hydrants, street signs or utility poles.
  4. DO NOT PARK in front of leaf piles on pick-up days.
  5. When your leaves are curbside and ready, schedule curbside leaf pick-up by using Nelsonville’s “TextMyGov, text “Hi” to 740-265-3858 and a series of texts will guide you through the reporting process, or call, 740-753-1314, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. You can also message the City of Nelsonville Facebook page.

Nelsonville Hocking PKWY closed, between both ends of Loop Rd Sat, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11AM until 6PM for home football game, avoid area, use alternative route

The City of Nelsonville announces that Hocking Parkway, between both ends of Loop Road will be closed to traffic Saturday, October 26, 2024, and Saturday, November 2 and 9, 2024, from 11:00AM until 6:00PM, due to the Hocking College home football game. Loop Road will be used as a detour route for this closure. Please avoid this area and use an alternative route.
