AEP Ohio planned power outage Nelsonville area, Tue, 3/30/2021, 5AM to 5:05AM

AEP Ohio has announced a planned power outage on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021 from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 5:05 a.m. This outage will allow crews to safely make upgrades to the electric grid. Affected areas include State Route 691, Hocking Parkway, Northern part of Nelsonville, State Route 278 North of Nelsonville, Haydenville, and Union Furnace. In the event of bad weather, the outage will be rescheduled for Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 5:00 a.m. to 5:05 a.m. If you are a landlord and are responsible for your tenants’ power, please be sure to tell them about the outage so they can plan accordingly. IMPACTS, Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.

Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates on this situation. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior to the onset of winds.

Nelsonville boil order SR691, bike path to Kimberly, Kimberly, SR691 to Hopewell Health, and Minkers Run, until further notice

The Nelsonville Water Department has issued a boil order for the following areas. State Route 691 from the bike path to Kimberly Road, Kimberly Road from State Route 691 to Hopewell Health (old Poston School), and Minkers Run Road.

The Boil Order was issued due to a repair of a leak on the mainline. When a boil order is in effect, we ask those affected to boil their drinking and cooking water for three minutes before being consumed.

This Boil Order is in effect until further notice, unless notified otherwise.

Nelsonville Woodlane Dr closed at Monday Creek bridge Mon, 4/12/21 until Mon, 8/2/21, for bridge replacement, avoid area

The City of Nelsonville announces that Woodlane Drive will be closed at the Monday Creek bridge between Pleasantview Avenue and Sylvania Avenue, starting Monday, April 12, 2021 until approximately Monday, August 2, 2021. The roadway is being closed for the replacement of the bridge over Monday Creek including the approach pavement and guardrail. Please avoid this area and use an alternate route.

Nelsonville boil order CANCELED for Grover St, Frederick St, Frank St, Edwards St, John St, Williams St and Madison St

The City of Nelsonville has CANCELED the boil order for Grover Street from Madison Street to Frederick Street, Frederick Street, Frank Street, Edwards Street, John Street, Williams Street and Madison Street from Grover Street to the City limits.
