The City of Nelsonville announces that Fort Street, from Washington Street to Scott Street will have no on street parking from 8:00AM until 5:00PM, Wednesday, July 3, 2024, and Friday, July 5, 2024. The parking ban is in effect so that crews can perform asphalt paving to the road surface. Expect delays, please avoid this area and use an alternate route.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Athens County until 10:00 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for Severe Thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings. Severe Thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce Tornadoes.
