REMEMBER – The City of Nelsonville would like to remind the public of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation 5K run and walk, Sunday, April 30, 2022, between the hours of 7:00AM and 1:00PM. During these times the Nelsonville Public Square will be closed to vehicle traffic and parking. 5K participants will be on streets throughout Nelsonville. Additionally, many spectators are expected in the city. Drive with caution throughout Nelsonville and watch out for pedestrians. Nelsonville Aquatics Center and Safe Swim for All, LLC holding learn to swim program for children with disabilities ages 2 – 18, June 2023, at Nelsonville Aquatics Center

The Nelsonville Aquatics Center along with Safe Swim for All, LLC will be sponsoring a learn to swim program for children with disabilities ages 2 – 18 on June 4 – 9, 2023, at the Nelsonville Aquatics Center. There are limited spots available, and the lesson price is $30.00, if unable to pay please include that information with your form to receive a scholarship application. Safe Swim for All, LLC offer a specialized program designed specifically for children with disabilities. The program has limited spots available to allow optimum staffing and ultimately success with the swimmers. The program is led by young adults who are students at Ohio University and are experienced working with children and adults with multiple disabilities and will offer one to one to two on one instructors for each child. Parents will be required to stay in the pool area for the duration of the lessons to dress, undress, and assist their children with all toileting needs. Following each lesson, the instructors will give a in personal, summary of the child’s progress to the parent.

Nelsonville phase 4 sewer project public meeting Wed, 4/26/23, 6PM, City Hall, the public is invited and encouraged to attend

The City of Nelsonville will hold a public meeting for the phase 4 sewer project on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 6:00 PM, at City Hall.

The City of Nelsonville is considering proceeding with a project that will extend sewer service west of the corporation limit along portions of Haydenville Road and Scenic Lane.  The EPA has offered the City grant funding to complete the project design and it is anticipated that construction will be funded utilizing their grant program as well.  Sewer tap fees are not charged for projects that are grant funded.  The project also includes installing sewers along Riverside Drive within the City Limits.  Before proceeding, the City would like to know if the property owners in the area desire to have sewer service.

Nelsonville boil order for Monroe St from Fayette St to dead end, Fayette St, Myers St, North St, until 12PM, Fri, 4/28/23

The Nelsonville Water Department has issued a boil order for water customers on Monroe Street from Fayette Street to the dead end and all Fayette Street, Myers Street and North Street. The boil order will be in effect until 12:00PM, Friday, April 28, 2023, unless notified otherwise. This boil order is due to a water line break and repair.

When a boil order is in effect, we ask all who are affected to boil their cooking and drinking water for three minutes before being consumed.
