Nelsonville seeks letters of support from local businesses, groups, civic leaders, and community members for 2023 PetSafe® Unleashed Dog Park Contest

Nelsonville is applying for the 2023 PetSafe® Unleashed Dog Park Contest, and we need your help! The PetSafe Unleashed Dog Park Contest is a national contest where one lucky community will win a dream park, a PetSafe Unleashed Dog Park valued up to $50,000 – a place where pets and people can come together to spread the joy and share the love with wagging tails, smiling faces and new friends every day!

Are you ready to Bark for Your Park™? As part of the application, we need letters of support from local businesses, groups, civic leaders, and community members. Write us a letter and list the ways you believe Nelsonville will benefit from a dog park, and why the next big dog park should be in our community. The Nelsonville Water Department has extended a boil order for water customers on Bessemer Road from the intersection of Woodlane Drive and Carbon Hill Road to Buchtel, State Route 78 from the intersection of Sylvania Avenue and State Route 78 to Buchtel and all the Village of Buchtel. The Nelsonville York City School Complex IS NOT INCLUDED in this boil order. The boil order will now be in effect until 12:00PM, Saturday, September 23, 2023, unless notified otherwise. This boil order is due to a second water line break and repair.

When a boil order is in effect, we ask all who are affected to boil their cooking and drinking water for (3) three minutes before being consumed.

The City of Nelsonville announces that Hocking Parkway, between both ends of Loop Road will be closed to traffic Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 8:00AM until 8:00PM, due to the Hocking Collage home football game. Loop Road will be used as a detour route for this closure. Please avoid this area and use an alternate route.
