Nelsonville Hocking PKWY closed, between both ends of Loop Rd Sat, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11AM until 6PM for home football game, avoid area, use alternative route

The City of Nelsonville announces that Hocking Parkway, between both ends of Loop Road will be closed to traffic Saturday, October 26, 2024, and Saturday, November 2 and 9, 2024, from 11:00AM until 6:00PM, due to the Hocking College home football game. Loop Road will be used as a detour route for this closure. Please avoid this area and use an alternative route.

The City of Nelsonville announces that McKee Paving will be performing roadside curb work Tuesday, October 22, 2024, on Franklin Street, Kotner Street, Frederick Street and John Street. This work is part of the waterline replacement project. Expect delays, please avoid this area and use an alternate route.

Nelsonville water outage SR691 and Kimberly RD from the bike path to Wolfe Bennett RD, Tue, 10/22/24, 9AM to 3PM, boil order until 12PM, Thu, 10/24/24

The Nelsonville Water Department will be shutting off water service on State Route 691 and Kimberly Road from the Hockhocking-Adena Bikeway to Wolfe Bennett Road on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 9:00AM until approximately 3:00PM. The water outage is necessary to replace a fire hydrant. When the water service is restored a boil order will be in effect for the area until 12:00PM, Thursday, October 24, 2024, unless notified otherwise.

When a boil order is in effect, we ask all who are affected to boil their cooking and drinking water for three (3) minutes before being consumed.

The Nelsonville City Council held a special meeting on Monday, October 7, at 7:00 PM, at City Hall. The purpose of the meeting was to inform Council and the public regarding the charter initiative measure appearing on the November 5, 2024, ballot and to provide a limited public forum for public discussion and provide Council an opportunity to discuss.

Any member of the public wishing to make public comment shall email Council Clerk at councilclerk@cityofnelsonville.com no later than 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024 to ensure sufficient time is allocated for public comment and facilitate public comment. If a person does not notify Council Clerk by the time specified above, there may not be time for such person to make public comment.
