September 11, 2001, 10:03 AM, United Airlines Flight 93: a Boeing 757 aircraft, crashes into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, as passengers attempted to subdue the hijackers

September 11, 2001, 10:03 AM, United Airlines Flight 93: a Boeing 757 aircraft, with a crew of seven and 33 passengers, not including four hijackers. As passengers attempted to subdue the hijackers, the aircraft crashed into a field in Stonycreek Township near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Please take time out of your day to remember the terrorist attacks in New York City, and Washington, D.C., and the bravery of the passengers that went down with the plane in Shanksville, PA on September 11, 2001. Please honor the 2,507 civilians, 72 law enforcement officers, 343 firefighters, 10 emergency medical workers, and 55 military service personnel who lost their lives, or gave their lives saving others. Many first responders are still fighting for their lives, and others are losing their lives, because of their response to Ground Zero. Each year we lose a few more.

Take a few minutes and acknowledge the loss to the country and the victim’s families…mark the day, and remember…, so that WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

Thank you to everyone and their 33 dogs for coming out to the 2025 Nelsonville Dog Swim

Thank you to everyone and their dogs for coming out to the 2025 Nelsonville Dog Swim at the Nelsonville Water Park. Everyone had a great time at the pool. A lot of fun splashing around and 33 tired dogs by the end of the night.

Thank you to the City of Nelsonville and pool manager Leslie Yinger for the use of the pool before closing for the season. Also, a big thank you to the students from the Hocking College Canine Services class for all their help keeping track of the dogs during the event. We hope that they gained some valuable clinical time with the dogs. Thank you to Bark for donating a BarkBox gift certificate for a door prize. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for another big splash.
