  • Phase IV sewer project
  • Temporary utility employee
  • Storm Water Fee

Nelsonville Aquatic Center Pool “Paw-ty” Doggie Swim Day Wed, 9/7, 22, 4PM to 7PM, $5 a dog to enter, proceeds aid establishing Nelsonville Dog Park

Nelsonville Aquatic Center is sponsoring a Pool “Paw-ty: Doggie Swim Day to benefit the Nelsonville Dog Park. Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from 4:00PM until 7:00PM. Bring your dogs of any size to romp and play and swim. Sun, Fun and Dogs – you can’t have a better day than that! 

$5 per dog to enter; larger donations are welcome: all proceeds to aid in establishing a Nelsonville Dog Park 

  • 4PM – 6PM, FREE Puppuccinos 
  • 6PM, Doggy Swim Bathing Suit Contest 
  • 6:30P, Raffle Drawings 
    • 50/50 
    • Dog Gift Basket 
    • Bark Box Gift Certificate 

GUIDELINES – PLEASE brush your dog prior to coming to the event. Please help us by brushing and also rinsing your dog by the pool prior to them entering the water. Dogs should also be rinsed before leaving the event, as some chlorine will be in the water, although at low levels which are considered safe. Bring life jackets for your dog if they aren’t experienced swimmers. 

The City of Nelsonville requires that dogs be current with vaccinations and paperwork should be shown at the entrance. Core vaccinations as set forth by AAHA (Distemper Virus, Parvovirus, parainfluenza, Adenovirus-2 – the 5-in-1 vaccination) must have been received within the past three years. Puppy boosters must be up-to-date and is set at every 4 weeks until 16 weeks old and a booster at 1 year of age. Rabies must also be given within the past 3 years for adult dogs and within the year for dogs under 2 years old. Bordetella should have been given in the past year. 

Water toys will be available. If you bring a toy, it is at your own risk. 

Humans are NOT allowed in the water, including the zero-entry area due to concerns set forth by the Department of Health. 

Please do not force dogs into the water. If they are scared, just let them run around and have fun. Forcing tentative dogs into the pool will not be allowed. 

Children must be supervised closely and are not allowed on diving boards, slides or in the water at any time. 

Please leave aggressive dogs at home for everyone’s safety. 

Dogs in heat are not permitted at the event.

Nelsonville aquatic center CLOSED weekdays, starting, 8/24/22, due to schools resuming session, thank you for your understanding

The City of Nelsonville announces that the city’s will be closed on weekdays due to area schools resuming session and staff shortages beginning Wednesday, August 24, 2022, and opening on weekends only starting Saturday, August 27, 2022, throughout the remainder of the season. The aquatic center’s last scheduled day to be open for the 2022 season is Monday, September 5, 2022.

Nelsonville Myers St reopened after Bomb Squad determines device found an inert training device

The City of Nelsonville has reopened Myers Street between Watkins Street and Monroe Street. The roadway was closed due to a hand grenade found in a car. The Columbus Fire Department Bomb Squad responded with Nelsonville public safety personnel and secured the area. The Bomb Squad determined that the device found was an inert training device. The City of Nelsonville would like to thank everyone for their cooperation and patience during this incident.

Nelsonville Myers St EMERGENCY CLOSURE, Watkins St to Monroe St until further notice, keep clear area and use alternate route

The City of Nelsonville announces that Myers Street between Watkins Street and Monroe Street effective immediately until further notice. The roadway is closed due to an explosive device being found in a car. Nelsonville public safety personnel are on scene and have secured the area and are awaiting an explosives removal team. Please keep clear of this area and use an alternate route. Updates will be provided as information becomes available.
