On Saturday, June 13, 2026, the Nelsonville Division of Fire will be part of a wilderness search and rescue exercise on the Baileys Trail System. Nelsonville firefighters and firefighters from York Township, Chauncey-Dover, Jacksonville, and The City of Athens will be participating in the exercise. The exercise is being held in the Utah Ridge area of the trail system and is expected to last from 8:00AM until approximately 2:00PM.
While Nelsonville firefighters are taking part in the Baileys Trail System exercise, firefighters and trucks from Murray City will be staffing the station to help provide coverage to the area. So please do not be surprised to see multiple and different fire department vehicles around Nelsonville and the Utah Ridge area.
