The National Weather Service has issued a FLOOD WATCH for Athens County in effect from 4:00PM, Thursday, 2/17/22 until 4:00AM, Friday, 2/18/22
- WHAT-Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
- WHERE-A portion of southeast Ohio, including the following counties, Athens, Morgan, Perry, Vinton and Washington.
- WHEN-From 4:00PM, Thursday, 2/17/22 until 4:00AM, Friday, 2/18/22.
- IMPACTS-Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS-A cold front will stall over central Ohio on Thursday as a wave moves along the front. The front will slide eastward Thursday night. This will provide 1 to 2 inches of rainfall which may result in flooding. – http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
