Nelsonville Code Enforcement Office would like to remind Nelsonville residents of City sanitary sewer requirements

The City of Nelsonville Code Enforcement Office is notifying Nelsonville residents that all houses, buildings or properties used for human occupancy, employment, recreation, or other purpose, within the City of Nelsonville with access to public sewer within one hundred (100) feet of the property line are required to install suitable toilet facilities and to connect to public sewer necessary for public health.

Official Notice will be sent to all property owners not connected and be given sixty (60) days to do so.

Any person who shall continue any violation beyond the time limit provided shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in an amount not exceeding one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for each violation.

Each day in which any such violation shall continue shall be deemed a separate offense.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall become liable to the City of Nelsonville for any expense, loss or damage occasioned the City of Nelsonville by reason of such violation.

Water/Sewer Service restoration shall only occur Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM by calling the Utility Office at (740)753-2151.
