ATHENS CO WINTER STORM WARNING FROM 1AM MON, 2/15/21 TO 10AM, TUE, 2/16/21, HEAVY PRECIPITATION OF ICE AND SNOW EXPECTED

The National Weather service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING for Athens County in effect from 1:00AM, Monday, 2/15/2021 until 10:00AM, Tuesday, 2/16/2021.

  • WHAT – Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches and ice accumulations of up to two tenths of an inch.
  • WHERE – Portions of southeast Ohio and northeast Kentucky.
  • WHEN – From 1:00AM, Monday, 2/15/2021 until 10:00AM, Tuesday, 2/16/2021.
  • IMPACTS – Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
