The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Western Athens County until 745 PM. At 657 PM, a line of severe thunderstorms was located 8 miles west of Rutland, moving east at 60 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include… Athens, Wellston, Nelsonville, Gallipolis, Glouster, Mcarthur, Rio Grande, Albany, Rutland, Lake Hope State Park, Gallia, Chauncey, Hamden, Buchtel, Jacksonville, Trimble, Zaleski, Vinton, Wilkesville and Adamsville.

WHERE…Portions of northeast Kentucky and southeast Ohio, including the following counties, in northeast Kentucky, Boyd, Carter and Greenup. In southeast Ohio, Athens, Gallia, Jackson OH, Lawrence OH, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington.

IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
