The City of Nelsonville announces that Pleasantview Avenue has been closed from Fort Street to Woodlane Drive, until further notice.  The roadway has been closed due a large tree and electrical lines being knocked down by a thunderstorm.  Nelsonville and American Electric Power crews are on the working to remove the debris.  Officials estimate that it could take 4 to 6 hours to reopen the roadway.

Please avoid this area and follow the directions of public safety crews on scene.

The City of Nelsonville announces that street paving will continue in the Pine Grove Drive area on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Pothole repairs will also start on Kontner Street and John Street on Wednesday.  Traffic flow will be maintained during these projects. Please avoid these areas. The City of Nelsonville announces that street paving will continue in the Pine Grove Drive area on Monday, May 21, 2018.  Paving will also start on Kontner Street on Monday.  Please avoid these areas.

The Ohio Department of Transportation will be closing State Route 78 from Burr Oak Boulevard to State Route 691 at US Route 33 overpass from June 4, 2018 until June 29, 2018. The roadway is being closed to install 5 new box culverts for wildlife preservation.  The detour for the closure is Burr Oak Boulevard to East Canal Street to State Route 691.  Please avoid this area.

The City of Nelsonville announces that street paving will be done in the Pine Grove Drive area on Thursday, May 17, 2018, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Paving will start on Upper Pine Grove Drive and continue down the street to West Canal Street. There will be limited access to the area during the paving process.  The City of Nelsonville apologizes for any inconvenience this project may cause.  Please drive safely.

The Athens County Engineer’s Office will be extending the closure of Athens County Road 1, Kimberly Road, from Township Road 268 Perry Ridge Road to County Road 2, Connett Road in York Township. The roadway will remain closed until Thursday, 5/17/2018 at 3:30PM.  The roadway is being closed for multiple culvert replacements, weather permitting. Please avoid this area.

The City of Nelsonville announces that Monroe Street will be closed from Fayette Street to East Columbus Street, Friday, May 11, 2018 and Saturday, May 12, 2018. The roadway will be closed each day from 8:00AM until 4:00PM.  The roadway is being closed for a Columbia Gas construction project.  Please use an alternate route.

The Athens County Engineer’s Office will be extending the closure of Athens County Road 1, Kimberly Road, from Township Road 268 Perry Ridge Road to County Road 2, Connett Road in York Township. The roadway will remain closed until Tuesday, 5/15/2018 at 3:30PM.  The roadway is being closed for multiple culvert replacements, weather permitting. Please avoid this area.

The City of Nelsonville announces that Grover Street will be closed from Scott Street to Fairview Street, Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 8:00AM until 4:00PM. The roadway is being closed for a water main repair.  Please use an alternate route.
