The City of Nelsonville Water Department has canceled the boil order for Wend Road. We would like to thank those affected by this incident for their patience and understanding.

The City of Nelsonville Street Committee will hold a meeting on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 6:30PM at City Hall. The meeting is being held to discuss the street sweeper schedule, pothole map and the five-year plan. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Daylight Saving Time begins tonight, so remember to Spring Forward one hour, from 2am to 3am on Sunday, March 8th! While you’re at it, the time change is also a good reminder to check some of the safety devices in your home, specifically your smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and weather alert radios. It’s also a good time to review emergency/fire escape plans with your family.

The Nelsonville Water Department has issued a boil order for Wend Road.
The Boil Order has been issued due to a repair for a leak on the mainline. When a boil order is in effect, we ask those affected to boil their drinking and cooking water for three minutes before being consumed.
This Boil Order is in effect until further notice, unless notified otherwise.

The City of Nelsonville Utility Committee will be holding a meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 6:30 PM at City Hall. The meeting is being held to discuss new utility projects. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.

Recycling dumpsters will be removed next to the sewer plant this week due to construction taking place in that area. There has not been a date as to when they will be placed back at this site. The recycling dumpsters are still available at the City Building. The City of Nelsonville apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause the citizens who utilize these dumpsters for recycling.

The Nelsonville Utility Committee meeting scheduled for tonight, Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at City Hall has been CANCELED.

Columbia Gas will be conducting GPS survey work in Nelsonville over the next month or two. A surveyor will trace the path of all gas mains and service lines up to the meter. They will record data using a GPS receiver mounted on a tripod. The surveyor will not need to enter homes or businesses. The data will help us provide better locating, maintenance and emergency response.

The City of Nelsonville Judiciary Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 7:30PM at City Hall. The meeting is being held to discuss Council Member rules – code of conduct, the Public Officials bond, ORC 3781.25 and ORC 3781.30. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
