The City of Nelsonville is accepting letters of interest for the position of Council Clerk. The Clerk will be expected to;

  1. Attend regular and special City Council meetings
  2. Prepare the City Council meeting minutes
  3. Prepare the City Council meeting agenda
  4. Record the ordinances and resolutions
  5. Perform other duties as assigned

This is a part-time position that will remain open until filled.

The Nelsonville Judiciary Committee will hold a meeting on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 8:00PM in council chambers at City Hall.  The meeting is being held to discuss;

  1. City Council rules
  2. Eligibility of Council members
  3. The City Charter
  4. City Council ethics and training
  5. City Council policies and procedures

The Nelsonville City Council will hold a special Council meeting on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 7:00 PM in Council Chambers at City Hall.  The meeting is being held to discuss:

  1. Police Union negotiations update
  2. Land acquisition for a new sewer plant site
  3. Pay increases for the Fire Department and non-union employees
  4. Public comment following executive session

Nelso Council Special Meeting

The Nelsonville City Council will hold a special Council meeting on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 7:00 PM in Council Chambers at City Hall. The meeting is being held to discuss:

  1. Council and public discussion and nominations and election/selection of a council president
  2. Council and public discussion and voting on Robert’s rules of order as rules for city council meetings and proceedings under Nelsonville City Charter section 4.05
  3. Council and public discussion and voting on rules in regards to the city law department and city attorney and sharing of all and any legal opinions or advice made on any city issue with all of council at all times.
  4. To allow for council and public discussion on recent appointments to city council and the process that took place before and after the appointment. This discussion should be polite and to the point.
