Nelsonville Burr Oak Blvd limited closed to traffic during the day Thu, 3/6/25, followed by 1 lane traffic until Mon, 3/10/25. please avoid area and use alternate route

The City of Nelsonville announces that tomorrow morning Thursday, March 6, 2025, Burr Oak Boulevard will be closed to vehicle traffic between Hillside Drive and the US 33 overpass for an emergency sanitary sewer line repair.

Thursday evening Burr Oak Boulevard will reopen to one lane traffic. There will be two traffic signals on Burr Oak Boulevard between Hillside Drive and the US 33 overpass until the morning of Monday, March 10, 2025.

Please avoid this area and use an alternate route.

No Outdoor Open Burning in Ohio March, April and May 6AM to 6PM!!

Ohio Revised Code 1503.18: Ohio DNR Forestry prohibits outdoor open burning and prescribed fires in the months of March, April & May between 6am and 6pm. This ban includes burning of yard waste, trash, and debris, even in a proper burn barrel.

NEVER to be burned at any time or any place in Ohio:

  • Food waste
  • Dead animals
  • Materials containing rubber, grease, asphalt, or made from petroleum

Other Restrictions:

  • Fires must be more than 1000 feet from neighbor’s inhabited building
  • No burning when air pollution alert, warning, or emergency is in effect
  • Fire/smoke cannot obscure visibility on roadway, railways, or airfields
  • No waste generated off the premises may be burned
  • No burning within village or city limits or restricted areas
