THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FOR ATHENS COUNTY FROM 7 PM SATURDAY, 1/18 TO 7 AM SUNDAY, 1/19.
HAZARD TYPES – SNOW
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS – 1 TO 2 INCHES.
TIMING – TONIGHT.
WINDS – SOUTH 5 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 20 MPH.
TEMPERATURES – MID TO UPPER 20S.

Electrical wires down and power outage Diamond Brick Rd NW of Nelsonville, emergency crews on the scene, avoid the area!
The York Township Volunteer Fire Department is on the scene of a broken electrical pole and electrical wires down near 17055 Diamond Brick Road North West of Nelsonville. The damage to the electrical wires has caused a local power outage. Emergency crews from American Electric Power are on the scene and working on the outage. Restoration of electrical service to the affected area is expected by 10:30 PM. Please avoid the area!
