The City of Nelsonville wants to remind residents within the City limits, that weeds, vines, and grass growing in heights of 8 inches or higher from April 1 through October 31, is in violation of Nelsonville City Code §91.14.01, and are subject to written notice, penalties and costs if not properly and adequately maintained.
While short grass and weeds may look nice, it is also an important way to prevent rodents, insects, and stagnant water from developing as a result of overgrowth. When grass and weeds are maintained below 8 inches, our community not only looks better, but its cleaner and safer too.
