The Nelsonville Utility Department, in conjunction with city ordinance 79-26, the city will now require a deposit of $150 for new water customers. This deposit is refundable upon termination of the account, and the account has been paid in full. The City Auditor may apply deposits to any unpaid portions of final utility bills and issue a refund to the account holder for the difference. These changes went into effect October 26, 2026.
