The National Weather Service has issued a FLOOD WATCH for portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, and West Virginia, including Athens County from 11PM, Wednesday 6/30/21 until Friday 7/2/21.
Several rounds of slow-moving thunderstorms are expected across the area through late Thursday night. Basin average rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches are expected, with localized higher amounts possible where multiple storms hit the same area. Despite recent dry conditions, localized flash flooding will be possible.
