The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch to include portions of southeast Ohio and West Virginia, including the following areas, in southeast Ohio, Athens, Meigs, Morgan, Vinton and Washington. In West Virginia, Jackson WV, Pleasants, Ritchie, Wirt and Wood.

- A slow-moving low-pressure system will produce off and on moderate to heavy showers and possible thunderstorms. The repetitive nature could lead to quick rises on creeks and streams and flooding of low-lying areas.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
- Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.
- Stay away or be swept away. Riverbanks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
