The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch to include portions of southeast Ohio and western West Virginia, including the following areas, in southeast Ohio, Athens, Gallia, Meigs, Morgan and Perry. In western West Virginia, Cabell, Mason and Wayne.
- From 2PM Monday, 5/18/2020 through 8PM Tuesday, 5/19/2020.
- A slow-moving low-pressure system will produce off and on moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms this afternoon through Tuesday evening. The repetitive nature could lead to quick rises on creeks and streams and flooding of low-lying areas.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
