Athens County is under a LEVEL 2 SNOW EMERGENCY. Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Roads may also be very icy. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roads. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work. Motorists should use extreme caution.

Athens County Winter Weather Advisory for snow in effect from 7PM, Friday, 12/29/17 to 10AM, Saturday, 12/30/17.

  • WHAT – Snow expected. Plan on slippery road conditions. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected.
  • WHERE – Portions of southeast Ohio and central, northern and western West Virginia.
  • WHEN – From 7 PM this evening to 10 AM Saturday.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS – Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times.
