Athens Co Flood Watch Wed, 2/28/24, from 3AM until 7PM, Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Athens County in effect Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 3:00 AM until 7:00 PM.

WHAT – Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

WHERE – Portions of southeast Ohio, including the following counties, Athens, Gallia, Jackson OH, Lawrence OH, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton and Washington and West Virginia, including the following counties, Barbour, Braxton, Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison, Jackson WV, Lewis, Mason, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane, Taylor, Tyler, Upshur, Wirt and Wood.

WHEN – Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 3:00 AM until 7:00 PM.

IMPACTS – Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
