The final schedule of events for the 20th Annual “Thunder In The Valley”, 4th of July celebration fireworks has been completed. The day will start with The Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad Park and Ride Shuttle from the Railroad Depot to Hocking College will be leaving the Depot at 7:30, 8:30, 9:30. Cars can park at the Depot and the Rocky Shoe and Boot Outlet. There will be one shuttle after the fireworks returning to the depot. Cost for the shuttle is $4.00 per person. Tickets are only available at the depot starting at 6:00 p.m. on July 4th.
At 8:00p.m. the public is invited to the Hocking College Campus to enjoy the evening. You can bring your own food or vendors will be available to sell you food and drink items. Local groups or persons interested in selling food or drinks may contact Mike Redecker at (740) 707-0824
As everyone settles in at 10:00p.m., the THUNDER IN THE VALLEY”, FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR will begin. This year’s display will be presented by the Nelsonville Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce has promised a 25 minute display of shells, to dazzle all the senses, and sure to get uhs and oohs from everyone viewing the display.
Fireworks will be launched from Hocking College. This year’s display will be accompanied by music simulcast by WXTQ, 105.5 FM. We are encouraging everyone to bring a radio and tune into the music so we can fill the hills with music and fireworks.
Parking is available at Hocking College, and plenty of seating is available on the fields and lots. No Parking will be permitted on Hocking Parkway or State Route 691. Alcoholic beverages and grills are not permitted on the Hocking College Campus. The show can be viewed from most areas of Nelsonville as it lights up the hills of Southeast Ohio.
